Description
Orford Ness is located on the east coast of England in Suffolk. It is the largest vegetated shingle spit in Europe, 10 miles in length and covering 2200 acres. To the south is Havergate Island, purchased in 1947 by the RSPB as a nature reserve. Orford village is opposite Orford Ness separated from it by the river Ore. The town of Aldeburgh is located to the North where the river changes its name from Ore to Alde.
